"Meant what?" She asked genuinely puzzled.
"You're the best thing to happen to me." He smiled, taking her hand. "Let's eat. And maybe you can remind me of some things I've forgotten."
Elle's heart skipped a beat. He seemed actually serious. These were the words Elle had been hoping to hear before she had disappeared. She had wanted him to like her as much as she liked him. She'd been close to falling in love with him before the FLUX happened. Those feelings didn't go away for her. Elle nodded as he led her down the alley.
"Here it is,"
"Hasn't changed a bit," Elle said as she followed him inside. It was a place made for Elle. She had no problem making it through the door or squeezing into their small booth. She had plenty of leg room and didn't mind Alex having to take up some of hers.
"You okay there tall man? Have enough leg room?" She said with a grin as she looked at the plastic menu already at the table. With a brief glance Elle knew what she wanted. Fish and chips with extra vinegar and Alex Kameren. In the short walk over Elle had decided to give what was obviously attraction between them a chance to grow. She wanted to date Alex Kameren again. See if they could make a go of this second chance of theres. If it didn't work then it didn't work.
"Okay, I'm just going to take a chance and say this. I really like you. I did before the whole flux thing and I still do. I want to see where this will go if you're willing? I mean we could just see where it takes us. Maybe we can make this work and maybe we can't but we won't know unless me try?"
