It was still bloody cold in March but thankfully it wasn't raining yet. Elle Callahan scurried along High street, determined to make it to the pub before the skies opened up and she did her best impression of a drowned rat. There was a spring in her step as she took a deep breath of the fresh air. Freedom had never smelled this good. Sometimes a castle got stuffy. and sometimes she just needed to escape the endless chattering of teenagers. If she found someone else trying to sneak into the wing for a little snogfest on a cot Elle would explode. She was tempted to booby trap the beds. Bloody rules about not being able to lock the wing doors was stupid. A door bell would be fine in altering her that someone needed help.
Happy thoughts. Think happy thoughts. Elle didn't need to be storming into the broomsticks with murder in her eye. She needed to forget work for a bit and just enjoy time with her friend. It was a rare night away from the castle and Elle was going to make the most of it. With a shake, she shook off her worries and pushed into the three broom sticks. Where she promptly saw butts. Apparently there was something going on that had people standing around near the entrance. Was it a giant convention or something? It seemed that every person over 6 feet had converged on the broomsticks. For a second Elle's heart did a leap as she spotted a rumpled dark haired man that loomed over the crowd. Maybe it was her lucky night and Alex, for some magical reason, was off work and was in the pub. He knew she'd be here. She had told him about her night out with Nuri, hoping to possibly see him but he had declined because of a stake out. Something about a boring night following leads. The man turned around and it was not her grumblely old man. Elle's shoulder's sagged in disappointment but then she grinned when she spotted Nuri and headed over.
"Is it me or is their a giant's convention?" Elle quipped as she hugged her friend.
