Oct 11th around 2am in the morning.
It felt good to be back at the hospital. It was Elle's favorite place in the world. She was not going to let a random stalker keep her from her life's work. Elle had always wanted to be a healer. She had played healer as a child. Had learned about potions and herbs to treat illness. Collecting remedies had been a hobby. She loved the healing arts and she wasn't going to let some flowers and a note keep her away. She belonged at Munogs. There was no way to prove that it was someone at the hospital. It didn't make sense that someone here would know about her changing her hair.. It was just all weird. Elle had been restless at Alex's estate. She was grateful for him in allowing her to stay with him while the mess was sorted out but that didn't mean she wanted to be kept there like a princess in a tower. She needed her work. So she refused to take more than a day off. She showed up a whole half hour to her night shift. It had been a busy night in the hospital. A local qudditch match had ended up in a dueling war. More than a few brooms were attached to humans in uncomfortable ways. It had been a pretty normal night. She had felt steady and happy doing what she loved until Sheila came in. She'd come in with someone who had been injured. She'd glared at Elle something awful and made a snide remark about money grabbing whores but Elle ignored her and directed an orderly to give the patient and his companion to someone else.
It had slowed down after midnight. Elle made her way from emergencies to spell damage. She avoided the fickle lifts and took the stairs. Elle took her time, her feet a little sore from standing on them for a 6 hours. She was looking forward to her lunch when she smelled sulfur. Elle paused on the stairs. Her eyes widening at the smell. Demons. She looked over her shoulder but there was nothing in the stairwell. She was alone. She heard nothing. Elle shook her head. She was mistaken. She continued walking but jumped a little, her hand clinging to the stair rail when she heard a door open and close. Instead of footsteps she heard a clicking sound. Like long nails. Demon nails. Elle hurried her pace and took the stairs two at a time. She needed to get out of the stair well. The sound of footsteps seemed to grow louder as she hit the landing. One more flight and she would be at the door. Elle quickened her pace as it became hard to breath. She thought she smelled a strange floral sent. Roses. Stalker not demons. Demons would have already tried to bite her. She needed to hurry. Needed to get to the door. Needed to call Alex. She was so stupid. Suddenly the world tilted and Elle lurched forward, her foot sliding out from under her and she fell backwards, landing hard on the stairs as she slid down. Her hand had been wrenched from from the railing and she tumbled, her head knocking on the stairs. She tried to stop her fall but she had knocked her head pretty hard and tumbled down the rest of the stairs landing on the landing in a heap. Blackness enveloped Elle and she knew nothing.
