09/28 -- Earthquake Day
He was on edge. He couldn't help it. He knew why he was on edge and he was trying to relax and yet he couldn't help it!
He was hoping a walk around Hogsmeade would help him to relax but so far it didn't seem as if it was working. His mind kept wandering.
He didn't want to be thrown into the fray again. It felt like he had just gotten out of the fray. Of course he himself hadn’t directly been in the fray last time, but it surely felt like it. He saw the effects of the war first hand. There had been a few days in which his mom had recruited him to help out at the hospital. It was more of a hand me this and hand me that sort of job but seeing the injured...it haunted him. Seeing how his mom broke down and feel to her knees sobbing when she had gotten to news of her brother’s death--it haunted him. The dread and fear that had washed over him when he had heard that Damien had been hurt -- it haunted him even despite knowing that his brother was all right.
There was so much on his mind. Too much one would say. And maybe this was why he had felt the need to get fresh air at this absurdly early hour of the morning. There was hardly anyone around (and for the better-he didn’t feel like being sociable right now). It was just him and he was all right with that. He stopped as he spied the Shrieking Shack. The abandoned house stood out like a sore thumb against the newer buildings. The boarded up old dilapidated house -- it echoed how he felt right now to be honest.
His thoughts were abruptly interrupted when he thought he had heard something exploding. Boom! --it had sounded like something was happening in the general direction of the Forbidden Forest. Well THAT was promising...no not really. Oh brother what was going on now?.
He wished he hadn’t of asked. The ground underneath him suddenly began to shake violently. ”Whoa!” The suddenness and unexpectedness of it sent Will falling onto the ground. He grunted as he had fallen forward--his chest and face hitting the ground. Ow. That was going to leave a mark. But he was hardly concerned about that. A hand shot out for the nearest whatever that he could find and he grabbed the post as if his life depended on it. His eyes clenched shut as he heard wood splintering and things falling and the rumbling noise getting louder and the ground was still shaking as if it was a snow globe and oh dear Merlin perhaps this was not a good idea after all.
