Emory swore under his breath as he hurried down the corridor to the Dungeons. There were angry tremors still shaking the ground following the very large tremor that had disturbed their sleep. Dust was falling from cracks between the old stone of the walls and there was an air of fragility that was not usual at Hogwarts. It was a time of confusion and mild panic as students and faculty woke up in the early hours to what felt like an Earthquake, but Emory had quickly felt the unnaturalness of the incident. Whatever this was, his Druidic senses told him this was not truly of the Earth.
What it was, was dangerous. Professor Marglos had been out for an early morning run, and had unfortunately been close to the Whomping Willow when the 'Earthquake' had hit. The Transfiguration Professor had been unable to get out of the way as the violent tree partially fell, it's limbs thrashing and hitting her, severely cracking several bones. And as Emory had already noted, there was a little too much dust falling from the walls down here in the Dungeons in particular. As Hogwarts was want to do in times of disaster, the students were being taken to the Great Hall. And with their Head of House now on her way to Mungo's it had fallen to Emory to collect the Slytherins.
He slipped into the common room, glad to see most students already out of bed, looking around in a mixture of confusion and excitement and bleariness.
"Alright, grab your friends, make sure everyone is accounted for and go to the Great Hall please. As quickly as possible." Emory announced counting students as they filed past him in chattering groups.
