"Thank you so much!" Beth beamed at the diminutive stall-keeper, handing over the knuts and receiving in return skewers of meat and roasted veggies. She turned and tried to find a place to eat, the street was crowded but eventually she found a vacant seat on a bench and took it happily, nibbling at her meal. A small containment charm kept grease from running down her arm. Setting the empty skewers on the ground by her feet, she smiled at her bench companions.
"Good morning! Isn't it beautiful today?" She hummed, chewing on a piece of roasted onion. Really, he had the best kabobs! After a long morning in the bookstore, lunch out in the warm sun was exactly what she needed.

He was beginning to get used to it.
Kind of.
Will wandered along Diagon Alley -- there was no destination in mind truthfully, he was just walking around to see how much had changed. It was still mind boggling to him -- how 17 years had just come and gone in the blink of an eye. And somehow no matter how much someone explained it to him, it was still boggling his mind. But he supposed that was to be expected.
Anyways...
He was not here to dwell and ponder over it. It had happened and no matter how much he had known about the details of the how, what, when and whatever else-- the fact of the matter was that it had still happened. And he had to adapt to the changes. It was as simple as that. Of course it was way easier said then done. But he would get through it. He had his family to help with that.
Oh he could not even begin to tell you how relieved he was when he had heard the not only his parents were still alive, but both of his brothers were as well. It was the biggest weight off his shoulders. He had met up with his mom and dad at the bookstore the day after his unceremonious "return" and for a moment, he thought they were never going to let him go. Both of his brothers had unfortunately been out and so he hadn't meet up with them yet, but he knew he would. There would be no other way.
It was great to see them. It really had been, but now he had to venture out and figure these things out! The times and cultural things had changed a great deal and he wasn't going to figure this out just by sitting at home and doing nothing. It was time to explore and that was where he was now. The atmosphere as a whole was a complete 180 versus then. It was nice though...not to have that constant feeling of having to look over your shoulders and what not craziness. Definitely refreshing if a bit strange.
He walked to the bench and took a seat to both rest his feet and just people watch as it were. It was a really nice day out -- why not enjoy it? He had noticed the girl sitting nearby with a kabob in hand, but he just let her eat and be. It wasn't until she spoke -- voicing the opinion of the days beauty -- that he smiled softly and spoke back, "Yes it is quite a nice day." he said with a nod ,"Oh I'm Will by the way." he introduced himself...

"Hi! I'm Beth!" She beamed, tossing the last of the sticks into the garbage. "Have you tried the kebobs? They're simply divine!" Beth leaned back on the bench with a contented sigh, stomach happily full. Her seat partner looked to be several years older than her. She liked his eyes, they were kind. She was less sure about his shaggy hair.

He smiled softly, "Nice to meet you." he then shook his head as the other asked if he had tried the kebabs before. "No I haven't but I'll keep that in mind for next time." he wasn't rather hungry right now and besides he had no money on him at the moment anyways. He had no intention of buying things right now. This was simply a see what was happening sort of venture.
She asked what he had been doing here and suddenly he found himself unsure of how to explain it. He didn't want to admit to being a flux victim. He only had told the people that he needed to tell. There was something about it that made him feel vulnerable. He didn't want to admit to that vulnerability and especially to someone he didn't know. But she did ask and he had to answer with something.
"Its been...a while since I've been here. I was just walking around and seeing what new shops or places had cropped up." that was the round about way he was putting it. Hopefully she wasn't the overly curious kind but hey he'd cross that bridge when he got there...
