It had been an interesting month for Eden Fletcher. First her grandfather had come back from the dead, demented and determined to take back his fortune. Then she'd gotten into a row with her best friend over a stupid bid at a charity auction. If he'd only told her that the auction had been rigged for him to win she wouldn't have created a scene by bidding an elaborate amount of money to save Rowena Covington from a prick. Alright, so maybe part of her had bid on Rowena so Max wouldn't go out on a date with the witch but that wasn't her only reason. It hadn't worked. Apparently they had a smashing good time on their date, then their second and were well on their way of falling in love. It was rather sickeningly sweet. On the one hand Eden was happy that her friend was happy, that he'd finally found someone to date. But did it really have to be the one person that set her teeth on edge by breathing the same air? Eden tried to be nice to Rowena but it was a challenge.
Eden needed a distraction from her life. She'd been hiding out in her studio more and more. It was a pretty little space. She'd converted an old green house on the outskirts of Hogsmeade into a whimsical studio. The old iron work had attracted her. There wasn't much to the actual building just a rectangle made of glass. For some privacy, Eden had painted the bottom third of the building. She did a different pattern on each side of the building. She painted thousands of butterflies on the front of the building. She usually kept the door open while she painted. She had a lot of natural light, and used curtains when she wanted to block some of it out depending on the time of day. Hundreds of fairy lights decorated the inside and provided light at night. She had a floating gallery on the south wall, opposite the door for her favorite pieces. She tended to just stack things in piles around the room. Sometimes she liked to go back to a sketch or painting. She had three easels of different sizes scattered around the room. The floor of a mess of paint splatters and scraps of paper. She had a ornate victorian drafting desk facing west. She had found it with Max at a muggle flee market and had fallen in love with it. She often sketched there. The tiny drawers and shelves were filled with quills and muggle drawing supplies. A low shelf ran along the lower part of the east wall, filled with paints, bruises and stacked parchment and muggle canvas. There was a little sitting area near the front door with a small tea table and a couple of chairs. She used that space for consultations if she had costumers in her space. Eden had cleaned it up for her appointment. She'd sent an owl to Maestro asking if he wanted to come to her space and see if he was interested in having her do a poster for him. Eden had gathered a few of her sketches and wanted posters she'd done for her ghost friend at the ministry as examples.
As Eden waited for Maestro to arrive she tried to tidy up the place but she'd gotten distracted and ended up on her settee sketching Maestro's face.
