Something about Tuesdays at the Three Broomsticks drove people away like a plague. Not a soul who wasn't contractually obligated to walk through the front door of the old pub did on Tuesdays, and to Maestro it was dreadfully boring. Surly Sid the Bartender could only entertain him with glares and huffs for so long before he would have to leave his post behind the piano and seek out human interaction elsewhere.
There was one place in Hogsmeade Maestro knew would always have a friendly conversation partner for him, though. The re-built Madam Puddifoot's was only a few doors down from the Broomsticks, and the late Madam Puddifoot's niece, who took over the place after the owner's passing, was always willing to entertain. She and Maestro had a similar sensibility that way; there was always time to chat.
Ring-L-Ling... Maestro swung Madam Puddifoot's front door open with a wide grin; it only faded slightly when Natalie, the assistant manager, greeted him with bright eyes. "Hello Natalie, my love. Is Ellie around?"
Natalie's head tilted to the side affectionately and she laughed. "Sorry, Maestro. Eleanor had an appointment in the city today, she'll be gone until tomorrow morning. Can I get you anything? Tea?"
Maestro sighed and shook his head, looking around at the half-filled café. "Oh, well, I'll see her next time. I'd love some tea, darling. Mind if I grab a table - " He reflexively grabbed a book off the Free Library Shelf behind him " - and catch up on some reading?"
Natalie laughed and nodded. "Tea's on it's way. Sit by the window if you're going to smoke, please."
"You know me too well," Maestro winked as he passed her, taking a small table in the corner of the front of the café, by the window. He lit his pipe and flipped open.... Niffler Fancy? Alright, why not?
