Name: Ralin Tyrnan O'Faerlun
Age: 34
Birthdate/place: [25-05-2002] / Wether-on-the-Hedge, Ireland
Species: Werewolf
Gender: Male
Family: No blood family, adopted brother of Theo Bowre and Dashiell Fairborne.
Appearance:
Hair: Russet streaked with blonde
Eyes: Striking bright green
Build/height- Fiery Irish blood gives the man a height of 5'5", but his energy and agility makes up for lack of vertical advantage. That same Irish blood gives him red hair, lean limbs, grass-green eyes and freckles across his pale skin. His compact size, strong hands and wide shoulders steady Ralin’s wiry frame, making it easy for him to do an Inverted Drunken Troll-in-a-Basket Tackle without flinging himself into the Quidditch green like a lawn dart.
General Description- Athletics have always come easy to the Irish man, even when he was a lad fast legs would keep him away from angry orphanage patrons, or the Hogwarts groundskeeper. And now that Ralin plays Pro-Quidditch, he keeps to an intense training regimen – but loves it! His favorite thing to do is hop on his broomstick to the nearest patch of wilderness and do a spot of trail running. His lighter, compact frame means that Ralin prefers agility and endurance to sheer muscle.
Ralin’s sense of style is easy-going and fun, mixing t-shirts with vests, jeans and jackets, scarves, and of course a crazy assortment of socks that make his wardrobe look like a clown exploded inside it. He prefers a pair of worn-in tennys to stiff boots, and shuns stuffy wizards robes.
Possessions- Aside from his Quidditch gear (including a sleek Nimbus Flashfire), Ralin’s flat is eclectic and ranges from personal items (charred Quidditch medallion, old Nimbus 3k, battered Gryffindor banner, a ring with the heraldry of Harkness, and others) to a teetering bookshelf rambling along one entire wall filled with spellbooks and a variety of others both muggle and wizardric. Near the window is an empty owl cage and perch (his trusty Scops owl having died several years ago – Wizard owls have a long lifespan). Ralin wants to get a new owl, but the right one hasn’t found its way into his life just yet. Some of the Quidditch gear is new, fresh from the Nimbus sponsors, but other pieces are well-worn and well-loved such as his lucky leather boots and gloves. And in another corner are shelves and boxes containing jokes and tricks of all kinds, both designed by him, or from Zonkos, or WWW’s.
Personality:
Temperament/Mental Attributes- Ralin is easy-going and great to get along with, but be wary of his mischievous ways (which he hasn’t grown out of despite being all of 34). He loves a good joke or trick, but never means any harm. This can provoke some people, which gets the man in trouble. Ralin can’t stand bullies, and will always stand up for the under-dog, even if that means getting his butt handed to him sometimes. Adulthood has given him even more confidence in the face of danger, but experience has tempered his rash thinking. Yet despite his efforts at maintaining a cool head, Ralin still tends to act first, think later.
Clever, quick and with an aim to misbehave still describes the attractive Chaser. He likes to make people laugh and brighten a sad face. Several failed attempts at relationships haven’t dimmed his view of women, and he hopes one day to find someone who can put up with his crazy schedule and crazier mind.

History-
Ralin was found on the doorstep of the orphanage as a baby with a wool blanket and card that was supposed to say his name, but the ink had run together. All that could be deciphered was "alityroefa". When he was old enough, Ralin used the letters to choose his own name.
His childhood was a struggle, being shuttled from place to place, and the orphanages were not easy places for a young, inquisitive lad. He often was the ringleader of the orphans; telling stories and playing games together. Eventually, the lad found himself at the Harkness House. There he discovered a warm family atmosphere where he was able to flourish.
Upon turning 11, he received the long-awaited letter from Hogwarts, and began to attend school. Discovering all that Hogwarts had to offer was quite a challenge, but Ralin tackled it with enthusiasm. Hogwarts became his home. He continued to explore Hogwarts each year, discovering more and more of the castle's secrets, and becoming good friends with the house elves.
During his sixth year, Ralin met the Quidditch instructor, Dashiell Fairborne. A friendship grew between them, and when Dash was injured gravely during the Quidditch World Cup, Ralin set out to St. Mungos to rescue his friend. After a daring escape, the two arrived at the HQ of the Order of the Phoenix, and the Order set out to rescue Lilly Skye from Azkaban prison.
Once order was restored, and Hogwarts resumed the following term, Ralin returned to the school. During his 7th year, Ralin survived an attack by the Killing Curse one night when he was out with a friend, Stormdun Hunt. A cult of dark arts wizards and other dark creatures had been gathering in the woods around Hogsmeade, and Ralin ran right into one of their patrols. They attacked, but Hunt rescued him and brought Ralin back to Hogwarts. A month later, the same cult attacked Hogsmeade in a raid to bring fear to the populace and make their presence known, but was repelled by Ministry officials and the Order of the Phoenix. Ralin was bitten by a werewolf while trying to defend students caught in the crossfire.
He learned to adapt to life as a werewolf, and graduated with excellent grades from Hogwarts. After spending several months on his own, traveling and adjusting to life outside of Hogwarts, Ralin returned to London to start training for Quidditch junior league. But since Hogwarts had been his home for so long, Ralin felt adrift. He rented a flat in London and began training for Quidditch, but took a job as a Daily Prophet reporter for a short time. Then dark things began stirring again in the Wizarding World, affecting those he cared about the most. It became impossible to avoid when Hogsmeade was invaded by a pack of demons, and Ralin joined his friends – and some new acquaintances – in fighting them off. Soon it was evident that a new dark enemy was gathering forces, even within the Ministry. Those who opposed Mosrael formed a group called the Black Watch, and took it on themselves to protect the innocent.
Ralin was glad to have a cause to join again, and eager to defend his friends. Mosrael attacked Hogsmeade again, razing part of it, yet it only served to push her opponents closer together, but soon the pressure of secrets, holding back the darkness, and fear for loved ones began to pull at the good witches and wizards, pulling them apart. Ralin, who only wanted to protect his friends, began to feel helpless, so he threw himself into trying to keep them together. He jumped at the chance to watch over Max Kameren so that the Black Watch could go about their mission. But Mosrael’s true aim was the boy, and Ralin barely escaped with his life. He blamed himself for failing to protect Max, so, despite being badly wounded, the young man pushed himself to join the search, and eventual battle, to rescue young Max.
After Mosrael’s defeat, and recovering in the hospital, Ralin tried to rest and heal at the Harkness House, but it was a painful reminder of what had been lost in the conflict, such as Theo’s absence after he vanished with Jack. Ralin knew his adopted brother was doing what was best, but it was too hard to stay in the House without the big man there. So he instead took a teaching position at Hogwarts again, back to his other home, and made a full recovery teaching students not to break their wings on the Quidditch pitch, or fling a bludger through the Astronomy tower. After two years of teaching, however, Ralin felt adrift once more, and wanted to reach for that dream he’d held on to ever since he was a wee orphan staring wide-eyed up at a bright orange-black poster of the Chudley Cannons doing a victory loop over the goal hoops. He crashed a party (literally) at his other big brother’s victory party in Romania (England 167-20) and asked which direction to the junior leagues.
The only hiccup was his werewolf status. Ralin was very reluctant to have this come to light – and knew that it could cause a lot of trouble down the line in various countries – so he worked hard to keep his inner furry self hidden. It put such a strain on him that when he was 26 Ralin took time off to rest an injury and also take a break from the stress. But then tryouts for the National Squad came in 2030, and when it was his turn, he was a Chaser, and he was good. They had him come back the next day to sign the contract.
He’s found a better balance so far between training, playing and the full moon, but knows that someday it will come out. Ralin knows it’s a stardust hope to think that there might be better werewolf laws then, but until that time, he’s living his dream playing Quidditch as a Chaser for England on the same team as his big brother, while renting a flat in Wizarding London. When the Wizarding World is quiet, Ralin knows he can keep playing, but should another shadow begin to rise, he will be one of the first to kick it in the teeth.
