Birthdate/place: June 3rd, 1997 [03-06-1997], in Bothell, Washington
Species: Human - Witch
Gender: Female
Family: Muggle-born
Samantha Nicole Peterson Blyther - Mother, age 60, alive and well
Jason Morris Blyther - Father, age 60, alive and well
Eleanor Jessica Blyther - Sister, age 32, alive and well
Appearance:
Hair: Caramel brown usually placed in dreadlocks
Eyes: A dark, dark brown just shades lighter than the black pools of the people of Asia.
Build/height- Standing at a straight 5'7", Meghan carries herself with an air of confidence and fire. She always charges ahead with a full heart of eagerness and fervor. Unfortunately, missteps do happen and because of her bolder movements, she has a tendency to knock things over.
General Description-
The smooth, olive face hidden beneath the messy nest of caramel vines houses the dark, almond eyes. Beneath the small nose poised at the middle of the tangled canvas is a mouth, usually spread into a broad grin, sometimes a smirk, and occasionally the fierce snarl. This head is plopped upon the strong shoulders of Meghan Blyther, a fiery and adoring woman.
The front is paired with a wardrobe of clothing, ranging from the simple t-shirt and jeans Muggles are known to wear, to a full voodoo queen set, to her graduation robes. What she feels like wearing, she will wear.
Her hair also changes with her mood. Sometimes, she wears the dreads up in a long, flowing ponytail, sometimes they run wild like vines. Occasionally, she'd dye them red or blue.
A handful of tattoos sprout over her body. A small Celtic fivefold rests on the nape of her neck, her coven symbol, usually covered by the caramel curtain. On her bicep sits another tribal symbol, one she received after her studies in the Bahamas.
She is a peculiar but warming character to look upon.
Possessions-
Besides the average wizarding things, she has:
+ A set of voodoo objects never used after her adventure in the Caribbean
+ A set of cultural wicca tools
+ A muggle apartment in Birmingham
+ A little, white dog named Fifi, who's shared with the neighbors
+ A variety of odd CDs from Seattle
+ A whole heck more of muggle-ware
Personality:
Temperment/Mental Attributes-
Meghan is a fountain of movement and passion with a quirky taste dashed in. Despite her rugged looks, she's quite eloquent and smooth, versed with years of education under her belt. She's known to be quite a handful sometimes, motherly, curious, and more or less eager to start something new. She walks with confidence and pride in most situations, unless proven wrong, in which her spirits will plummet. She also is less self-conscious than others and barrels into people before stopping and apologizing while picking up any dropped goods.
Under her polished yet wild-like surface, her truer self explodes. Growing up in the Americas, especially Seattle, with muggle parents, sprouted a deeply-rooted passion for the bizzarre. Eccentric basically describes everything about her life, from the way she dresses to her cooking and everything in between. She likes culture. It's quite oblivious to her too, being completely unaware of the "box" that's been put around society. Sometimes, without meaning to, she can be a bit uncomfortable to be around. In her spare time, she tries to find various old techniques or rarities, like glass making or making music boxes.
All her life, she's been quite good with children. She's always given younglings the first priority in life, whether it be human, werewolf, goldfish, or something else. It was something, maybe extraordinary patience, that let herself be pulled around by little fist or pinched and poked at by little fingers and gawked at by little eyes.
She breaks a lot of things, as a result of her absent-mindedness coupled by her clumsiness. Glass is one of her favorite mediums, as are big skirts, and... well... you get the picture. Her absent-mindedness has burnt down her apartment before. She also likes to experiment a lot, concluding in multiple disasters. Because she's gotten fired from previous jobs for accidents like these, it's a sore spot for her.
Love-wise, she really, really wants to find a guy, be it muggle or wizard. She's only dated thrice in her whole life, each resulting in painful heartbreaks. The dreams of a quirky man like herself ride on her shoulders as she sees the pool of fish slowly get smaller and smaller. She'd love to get married and have kids.
Did I mention she's very passionate when somebody attacks muggles? It's a good idea to not talk about muggle rights in general around her because she's been known to draw wand and blade on the subject.
Also, she is a seer in touch with the Inner Eye. She really doesn't understand how she's able to predict with such accuracy, but she gets glimpses of things that happen in the future. Sometimes the mental image contradicts itself, and she presents both visions, and sometimes it points at one single thing, and she presents that. Divination has helped her hone in the skill a lot, which was explained quite thoroughly at Salem.
Crystal balls cause hypnosis, thus making those glimpses easier to see, or however the students sees the future.
Tea leaves, xylomancy, and ovomancy can either provoke images or hint at what the images mean.
Dream interp is more of a conscious seeking job. It's not predicting the future, but what the person is feeling now.
Palmistry is genetics. It could mean a variety of things. Meghan HATES palmistry and refuses to use it, refer to it, or teach it.
Cartomancy is to help figure out what is inevitable. It's rare that she uses this because Meghan believes that the future is always changing. Unfortunately, she refers to it for herself a lot, and she's coming to hard terms that somethings in fate will never, ever change, no matter how you get to them.
Very, very rarely, she gets visions. This has happened pretty much twice in her life, but each prophesy always comes true. They tend to be provoked in large groups so people can hear and receive them. She has no recollection of them, but she knows she does faint after each one. The meaning of each visions is also ranges from extremely obscure to extremely blatant.
Alliance- Pretty much a good guy... She's out there to live her own life, really, but get her angry or offend her and you pretty much have a flamethrower on your tail.
Alignment- Chaotic Good... ish....

History-
Samantha Peterson and Jason Blyther had been living joyously together when they decided they wanted to have a child. Both were at the ripe age of 26 and had been married for quite some time– A normal family in a normal situation at a normal point in life. Jason had held a steady job as a well-known fashion designer and Samantha was rising in the ranks of the research facility, so they asked why not? Both sides of the family drew together to celebrate, as families normally do when children are being born. Meghan was born in the loving care and wonderful joy of a regularity, no scars or scariness to blemish her past.
Meghan was born on a warm. June morning to a budding scientist as a mom and a fashion guru as a dad. She grew up like any other kid living in Bothell and, later, the suburbs of Seattle: going to elementary school and middle school. It seemed not an ounce of magic was in her blood, and the only thing strange were her tastes and obsessions in some of the weirdest things. Then again, with a fashion designer as a father, who knew what she inherited? No magic ever surfaced because, well, there was no need for it to ever surface. She was well integrated into muggle society until her 13th birthday.
---
Two months before her 13th birthday, she was going through a very hormonal time. Her family had told her they'd be moving across the state and back to Walla Walla for another researching job, and she wouldn't be able to complete her last year of middle school. With a combination of rage and distress, she fled into the woods behind their house. It was there she found a wiccan coven practicing rituals. She spent the weekend with them, her magic suddenly appear. She figured out how to set things on fire, as well as knock things back. Two days later, she was found by a member of the Salem Witches' Institute and brought back home. They found her regular family, along with her Grandmother, waiting patiently in the living room and the talk began. It turned out her great-great-grandmother was a squib and she was the first witch after quite a long time. They also explained that, because of the more relaxed life in America, young witches and wizards tend to not reveal their magic until later times in life. She'd have to catch up with her fellow classmates and, thus, she would have to spend the summer at another witch's house. A couple of sad goodbyes later and within a few weeks, she found herself at the doorstep of a woman named Yvonne Requient.
Yvonne was a robust, cheerful, young lady that opted to do the summer training programs for Salem because she was sterile. She lived with her husband, Edward, in a little cottage in the valleys of Southern Colorado, where they grew wheat. Meghan jammed her whole first year into those three summers, with a lot less homework and more tests. She passed the first year final just fine and proceeded to go to Salem the years afterwards, where she was sorted into the House of Terra along with a bunch of first years and a handful of third years.
The night of sorting, she met Syria Hockhem, an angsty second year with confidence problems and a love for metal music, and Carlos Gonzales, a once-athletic second year that was crippled after an accident with a car. Syria, Meghan, and Carlos became very good friends, all three of them entering at the same time and sharing most of their classes together. The three of them and another handful of first, second, and third year misfits became what was known as the Uulgus Imparus.
Her life has been pretty simple after that. In her third year, she failed to ride a broom, breaking both legs and her arm after a fall from fifty feet. After seven weeks in the hospital, with Carlos by her side and giving her pointers as much as possible, she was up and running again. In her fifth year, she and Syria decided to do a student exchange program with a pair from Mahoutokoro. She knows up to third year Japanese, but has tried to forget it due to their sixth year.
---
Meghan's sixth and final year at Salem was extremely emotional. Syria found out that her family fell to complete ruins after her father murdered her mother. Various lye-and-tear-stained letters appeared all over their dorm, strung up against the windows. By the middle of the year, the letters had curtained each pane thoroughly. Syria also found out that her sister and brother were on the run from her father and, both being squibs, in great danger. Carlos was struggling financially, coming from a poor background. For the holiday season, Meghan took Carlos back to her family, who were now residing in Walla Walla. After a few explanations, Meghan's family heartily took in Carlos as their own son and agreed to pay for the rest of his education. Meghan's mother was now a well-known scientist in the biology field and her father had quit his job and became a glass maker. Meghan's little sister, Eleanor, had quite a crush on Carlos for sometime before learning that Carlos was gay and already had a boyfriend.
When the pair returned to Salem, they found that Syria had been hospitalized for suicidal tendencies, depression, and insanity issues. They asked the headmistress to check and see if she wasn't under the Cruciatus Curse and, to their dismay, she wasn't.They also found some of their friends had been unable to get back to school, as a large earthquake had happened in California and there were several disastrous limits in transportation, including transportation via airway. To top it all off, Meghan was making some pretty scary predictions in Divination and, being one of the better and only students at the class, she would regularly throw her teacups at the wall.
Syria had returned only two weeks before spring break, looking more ragged and skeletal than ever. Apparently, she was released from the hospital a month before but she had to track down her father and siblings.
"I still haven't gotten any letters from them," she sobbed, Meghan holding her as she read the last of the letters Meghan had been collecting for her. Syria curled up against her and the three of them were almost reunited. Carlos had already left for Canada to move his family, asking if he could take the two weeks off in order to save some money. The headmistress let him go, since he was one of the top students in school. Meghan continued to take of Syria the week she was here as Syria had come down with a cold.
The week before spring break, after coming back from potions class, Meghan crumpled to her knees in the middle of the hallway. A couple of the girls screamed as her body seemed to shutter and flail, a puppet on some string.
"Be warned, Student of Salem!" she shouted, an unnatural voice erupting from her lips. It was two-toned and extremely masculine.
"Be warned, for thy hand that created thee shall thus undo thee, be warned!" And she collapsed in the middle of the highway. She spent the evening in the hospital wing, the divination teacher at her side. Both nurse and master agreed that the Inner Eye had spoken.
Spring break arrived and Meghan, once again, took off to visit family. The prophesy haunted her through her vacation to Florida's beaches, and she didn't get much sleep during the week. Eleanor and Meghan shared some good bonding time, quite needed between the two. It was here that Meghan promised Eleanor that she wouldn't forget she was both a muggle and a witch, and that the muggle world was just as important as the wizarding one. Meghan agreed to go to muggle university after she graduated from Salem. The break flew by quite quickly and she bid the family one more goodbye before she set off to finish the year.
When she got back, she found Carlos in tears in the Common Room, a newspaper and a letter on his lap. She gentle picked it up and her throat tightened, a sad gasp escaping her.
"Ms. Syria Hockhem found dead, Henry Hockhem still on the run."
Syria Hockhem was found dead Sunday evening after a grueling fight with Henry Hockhem, a murderer of his wife and several muggle-related family members. Coroners suspect she committed suicide in an attempt to not submit to her father. Henry Hockhem is still at large and on the loose. If you have relatives in the Midwest-Wisconsin area, please be alert. If you see anyone like this man below, please alert the nearest Auror possible. Continued on A8"
Beneath the blurb was a burly looking man with eyes that stared back blankly. Meghan flipped over the page quickly. He had Syria's eyes. Carlos was still weeping openly, softly, Syria's old stuffed penguin clutched to his chest. Carlos and Meghan finished off the year together and stay in touch constantly since Syria's death.
Meghan, Carlos, and the rest of the Uulgus Imparus finished the year just fine. Carlos went on to marrying his now-husband in Canada and works in the Canadian Order of Wizardry. The two send letters frequently, though Meghan still tries to teach him how to use the computer. Meghan has kept in touch with a variety of friend from Salem.

After wizarding school, she moved back to her family in Walla Walla, who were relocating to the now-stable Northern California. She went to a muggle community college, as she promised her sister, and spent five years moving through muggle school again, getting a bachelor in the arts at San Fran State. At 22, she decided it was time to travel. She spent three years traveling in Louisiana and Haiti, studying voodoo and other cultural witchcraft. She found weird ways magic flowed through poetry, hexes, and actions, but superstition was the main staple of their threads. But, with the newly found magic, she developed a strong, though small, group of voodoo practices and was deemed a voodoo queen in Louisiana for quite a while.
Her last days there ended in a horrible misconception between the other voodoo queens and herself. They were meeting in order to push back the hurricane seasons and, being a bit experimental, she accidentally brought in strong winds instead of pushed them back. The queens turned on her, calling her a traitor and threatening to kill her and hex her family. She immediately left the area the following day, spears and salt on her trail. She never went back to Louisiana after that, and hopes never to except for the food.
Once again, now at the age of 25, she moved back with her parents in now Colorado. They found Boulder-Denver area to be much more welcoming to their eclectic lifestyle, as her father had gone back into the fashion business and her sister started up a rock climbing gym. She spent another three year there, working as an entrepreneur business consultant who made chandeliers on the side for a year and then the rest as a daycare owner. On another warm evening in June, just a couple of days after her birthday, her parents poked her and said that she should go out and use her magic. They suggested that she'd move back to Britain and get a job there or open up a place. After another month and a letter to Carlos, she kissed her family good bye once more, packed up, and flew to Britain.
She moved to Walsall and got an apartment in The Delves, opening a daycare center in Beechdale. Business died, so she moved down to Birmingham, working in the local theaters, museums, and various other odd jobs, opening another glass-making business, and giving as much business as she can to Walsall. There was a period of time where she'd take the dayshift of the Knight Bus, but she left a few bags on the curb due to her forgetfulness and had been fired. In between this and her other jobs, she got a small dog by the name of Fifi. She became the head of one of the theaters and worked there until she was 32.
Meghan refused to go into psychic arts or mentalism because she believed that it was a horrible misuse of the Inner Eye and, because the Inner Eye is so wishy-washy as the future is almost never predetermined or laid out step by step, she felt that it was more or less going to fool innocent muggles than whatnot. There have been various times she was used to help wizards and witches with their lives, and she had been called in to St. Mungo once for help with identification of a jinx. It was just simple voodoo hex laid on a curious child, she told them the counterjinx, and proceeded with her life.
One frosty evening, just before Christmas, she got a letter from Hogwarts saying that she could take up the Divination position, for they had been out of a teacher for quite a while. She didn't know how or what happened, but she had. From then on, she's been quite happy with her job and teaching position. She gets to work with children and continue with her divination while paying for her rent.
She now wishes to get the Astronomy Teaching job, as well as marry and have kids, and go back to traveling. She also wishes to see Carlos again, who she writes to nearly every day. Someday, when she saves up enough money, she vowed that she'd find Henry Hockham and kill him. She also wants to go back and thank the wiccan coven that helped her find her way. Traveling would be nice, as well as seeing her old Japanese friends. But for now, she lives and works in Britain and is content.
Someday, just someday.
