Name: Maxime Kristopher Kameren-DeVille

Species: wizard
Gender: Male

Amelia Beauregard - Mother, muggle. 43.
Peter Beauregard - Step-father, muggle. 47.

Extended Family:
Alex Kameren - Uncle, wizard. 38.
Eloise Kameren - Aunt, witch. 38.
Elias Kameren - cousin, 11.
Sarah Kameren - cousin, 9.
Appearance:
Hair: A muddy brown and constantly messy, Max doesn’t pay much attention to his hair. He tries to keep it cut short, but he often forgets about it and it gets shaggy and curly.
Eyes: He has the sharp emerald green that's dominant in his father's side of the family.
Build/height- Max stands at an intimidating 6'6", and is skinny as a wand. He doesn't handle his long limbs very well, which makes even his most purposeful movements awkward and clumsy. The only place where he seems to move smoothly is in St. Mungo's. He carries himself with a happy demeanor most of the time, but his mood has a habit of changing with the moods of the rest of the room.
General Description- Max has a pale, heart-shaped face sprinkled with freckles and bordered with curls of brown hair. He has an easy smile with slightly-crooked teeth, but the imperfections only seem to make his smile more endearing. His ears poke out from the tangle of brown hair at an angle.
Max's length proceeds beyond his limbs and into his fingers and toes as well; his softly-freckled hands are slightly worn from working, with nicks and scars here and there on his arms from past injuries when he was younger. He has only one major scar: a diagonal cut on the bottom of his chin, from a duel he fought shortly after Hogwarts.
Possessions- Max lives in a small flat above Flourish & Blotts in Diagon Alley, but he spends so much time at St. Mungo's that its merely a place to sleep. Beyond that, he has most normal possessions a 24-year-old wizard would have.
Max has a pet cat, a 16-year-old orange furry ball of rage named Tabby. She was a gift to his father from his uncle a year before Max had even met his father, but she took a liking to Max and eventually he took ownership.
Personality:
Temperment/Mental Attributes-
Max is a truly good-hearted person who wants only to help those around him. His friendly, easy-going attitude and constant smile keep people at ease. He has a good sense of humor, and works tirelessly to keep everyone around him happy. Though he enjoys pleasing others, this is just as much out of necessity for his own well-being than it is to convenience those around him. Max Kameren is an empath, and the moods of those around him affect him nearly as much as his own, and vice-versa.
Max's empath abilities overpower him in large groups, making it painful to go out. Because of this he sticks to smaller groups, and has instead smaller circles of close friends. He is a sociable and happy person in smaller environments, but it's easy to see him get nervous in larger settings.
In a smaller setting, Max's own temperaments fall into place. Like much of his family, Max is a quiet intellectual at home and with his loved ones. He is a fiercely loyal friend, always putting himself before those he cares about without a thought. He is a particularly overprotective big brother, especially over his younger sisters. Building a relationship with Max is building a life-long ally.
However, with his many good qualities comes also some troubles. Max has his mother's temper; he has little patience and a short fuse, often even getting angry for no reason. He gets frustrated when people don't understand him, and tends to lash out verbally and sometimes even physically if pushed too far.
Alliance- Good, whenever he can make it out from the grey area.
Alignment- Chaotic good.
Employment&Education:
-Adults-
Former House- Gryffindor
Job- Healer at St. Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries. He also interns as an on-site healer for the Department of Magical Law Enforcement at the Ministry.
Employer- St. Mungo's.
OWLs/NEWTs- Max achieved an O in nearly all of his tests save for, ironically, Potions.
Other:
Magical Skills- Max is an empath. In the magical world, this gives him the power to understand and read people's emotions, and even affect them with his own. It has the drawback of rebounding back to him, however, which makes the mood of a group greatly affect him. He is also a rather accomplished duelist; coming from an auror family, he's learned from the best.
Patronus- a giraffe
Wand- eleven inches, mahogany wood with a core of sphinx-mane.
Goals/Aspirations- Optional
Other Information-Max spent much of his childhood in France, and speaks the language fluently. His natural accent is a slightly-off Irish lilt, from being raised in France by his Irish family during his early childhood.
Max's girlfriend of five years, Carol Essex, recently left him. He's still a bit hurt from it, and gets sad about it often but is sure not to let his friends and family onto his feelings.
History-
(four years ago...)
"Max, what are you doing?"
"What do you mean?" Max took the frozen peas from his father's hand and placed it gingerly on his quickly swelling cheek. He hunched a bit to meet closer to his ailing parent's shrinking height.
"You know exactly what I mean. The fighting. Your mum said she wouldn't let you back in the house if you came home bruised again."
Max was quiet, avoiding his father's eyes as he sunk his cheek into the bag of peas. Though dysfunctional, his parents always strived to give him a good life. From living back with his mother in France, to meeting his father at nine and learning of the wizarding world, they did their best. They didn't deserve what Max was giving them. "I'm sorry, dad, it's just... I don't know."
"Max, c'mon." Curse's sharp emerald eyes met Max's identical gaze. Max sighed, breaking eye contact and glaring down at the floor.
"I don't know, dad. I really don't." It was an odd sort of thing that would only come over him at times; when he was young it was the source of his juvenile wandless magic abilities. He could just seep into the air around him, becoming a part of the mood around him. In large areas it would overwhelm him. Hogwarts was the worst for it.
"There were just too many people. I couldn't handle it, and some arse at the bar mentioned you, and... I just snapped." Max couldn't handle bad words against his family, especially against his father. Curse Kameren, though he wasn't a perfect parent, was a much stronger man than most. He and Max had been through a lot together, and seeing his father's illness finally starting to take him killed Max. Max's family was important to him, his parents and sisters and brother and even his step-parents.
Curse crossed his arms, leaning his cane against the kitchen counter. "It was the mood thing again, wasn't it?" Max nodded, and his father's sigh made him tired. His father had that way with people, making them feel tired just by his own tiredness. "Did you talk to Eden about it?"
"Not yet." Eden, Max had forgotten to bring it up to her. A seer herself, she might be able to understand his uncontrollable mental ability. He could confide in Eden; she was his best friend, after all. The first person his age he'd met coming into the wizarding world, and practically a family member herself. "I talked to Carol about it, though."
"Max." Max looked up at his father's unhappy gaze, but didn't apologize.
"She's been my girlfriend for two years, dad, it's not like I'm running out in the street and telling strangers." His mind flashed momentarily to his mother the first time she witnessed Max performing magic, so long after Curse fathered him and Curse never told her. He wouldn't do that to Carol. "Besides, I'm going to marry her eventually."
"We'll see."
Max glared at his dad. "What, you're going to stop me from marrying Carol like you stopped me from being an auror?"
"Look at you! Look at what you're doing! Don't you see why you can't be an auror?" Max's father growled. Max shared his father's stubborn look, his back straightening to a height above him. "If you'd been a junior and gotten into a senseless pub fight like this one, you'd have been out of the program!"
"Because you never did worse at the Ministry?" Max grit his teeth as Curse glared at him. He crossed his arms. "Just like dear old dad..."
"You'll make a better healer than you would have been an auror."
"I guess we'll never know for sure, will we?" Max put down the peas and straightened, heading for the kitchen door.
"Where do you think you're going?" Curse arched a brow at Max, taking up his cane to follow him.
"I'm staying at Carol's tonight." Max left the kitchen, picking up his book bag as he headed for the door. "Then I'm moving out."
