Name: Sabrina Wells
Age: 33
Birthdate/place: 14-01-2005
Species: Witch
Gender: Female
Family:
Michael Wells - Father, 68. Chairman on the Committee of Experimental Charms at the Ministry.
Elaine Wells - Mother, 67. Shopkeeper at Spintwitches Sporting Needs.
Christopher Wells - Older brother, deceased in a Quidditch accident 10 years ago at age 26. Professional Beater for Puddlemore United.
Gregory Wells - Uncle, 68. Financier at Gringotts.
Felicia Wells - Aunt, technically 50, but due to the Flux was frozen in time. If she hadn't been lost her age would be 68. Unemployed since her return.
Jackson Wells - Cousin, 32. Potions Master at St. Mungo’s.
Antonia Wells - Cousin-In-Law, 30. Shopkeeper at Miko's Maladies.
Eliza Wells - Cousin, 26. Researcher at the Department of Mysteries.
Appearance:
Hair: Sabrina’s hair is an unruly beast: thick, black and shiny with large tubular curls that refuse to be tamed. It seems to be constantly moving even indoors, causing her to frequently run her hands through it and toss it over her shoulder in futile attempts to keep it out of her face.
Eyes:Thin and almond-shaped. Dark with a clever glint to them that’s always analytical. It’s difficult to get Sabrina to look you in the eye for long because her attention is always occupied by her current project. She needs glasses but the gold-wireframe specs more frequently live in her unruly curls, only to be called to her nose when she’s reading small print.
Build/height- The Wells lineage are a stout people, and Sabrina is no different. She stands at a measly 5’3”, with sinewy build. She’s naturally athletic, a great flyer, and had excellent hand-eye coordination as a Seeker at Hogwarts but she stepped back from the sport after her brother’s accident.
General Description- Sabrina has a round face with high cheekbones and flat features. Though she’s warm and friendly, Sabrina’s lack of inhibition shines brightly in her mannerisms. She’s quite fidgety and her facial expressions are often exaggerated and unbecoming. They say ‘dance like no one’s watching’; Sabrina does everything like no one’s watching.
Though not unfashionable, Sabrina’s most important clothing requirement is comfort. In the summer she wears fitted t-shirts and the winter she wears varying sweaters and sweatshirts, normally with her trusty jeans and boots to accompany no matter the time of year. She can count the number of times she’s worn a dress on one hand. It’s always the same dress: a black wrap dress, her funeral dress. She hates it.
Practically attached to Sabrina it’s with her so often is her chestnut-colored leather satchel. The bag is usually packed with writing and research materials, imperative to her work as a reporter.
Possessions- Sabrina lives in a too-small two-bedroom flat in Wizarding London with her younger cousin, Eliza. It’s overpriced, but near the Daily Prophet offices. Lovingly described as ’The Hole’, Sabrina’s home is 40% bare minimum living essentials, 60% combined research materials for the journalist and the Mysteries emplyee. Living among the mess is Sabrina’s energetic Shiba Inu, Battery.
Personality:
Temperment/Mental Attributes-
Sabrina Wells was made to be a journalist. She may not have great physical fortitude or legendary dueling skills, but she has something much better: a near-superhuman ability to not care what others think. The Sabrina presented to her family and friends is the same Sabrina presented in her cubicle at the Prophet, and the same Sabrina who takes notes in the press gallery of the Wizengamot during meetings. Though she has the baseline politeness one needs to participate in society she has no filter and has no trouble being too familiar with a stranger when one passes by.
Pairing nicely with her brazen personality is Sabrina’s stream-of-consciousness way of speaking. Whatever comes to her mind falls from her lips in conversation. Her humor is dry and witty, and her facial expressions are also impossible to hold back. When Sabrina has a strong feeling about something, the whole world knows it.
Sabrina has boundless curiosity. For thirty-four year she has been a bubbling fountain of nonstop questions, about anything and everything. It sometimes comes off as hard-headedness or rude, but somehow the intrepid reporter never learned to stop pushing when met with resistance. More often than not, she’s learned, relentless prodding works far better than patience. And though it’s affective for her work, it often follows her home as well; more than once Eliza has retreated to her room to escape her older cousin’s curiously chirped questions about the secretive department she works for.
The only soft spot in her impertinent personality is Christopher. Growing up Sabrina and Chris were inseparable, even playing together for four years on the Hufflepuff Quidditch Team. Sabrina always loved Quidditch, and had been reporting for the Prophet and thinking of going pro in the sport herself when a tragic accident on the field during a game took Christopher from his loved ones forever. Sabrina still hasn’t really come to grips with it, instead compartmentalizing her pain and pushing it away. After Chris’s death she transferred to the Wizengamot beat, as even the mention of the sport still bothers her.
Alliance- Truth.
Alignment- Chaotic Neutral
Employment&Education:
-Adults-
Former House- Hufflepuff
Job- Currently Sabrina is a reporter on the Wizengamot beat, transcribing any and all meetings of the Ministry's court evenly and verbatim. But she longs to be transferred to the Daily Prophet's crown jewel: the Special Projects Desk, where reporters work on larger-scale investigative articles that break real news and make change in the Wizarding World.
Employer- The Daily Prophet
OWLs/NEWTs- Sabrina was unremarkable in most of her OWLs/NEWTs, but she did stand out exceptionally well in Arithmancy. History of Magic was always her strong suit; she was the only student in her year to earn a perfect score on her History NEWT the year she took them.
Other:
Magical Skills- Nothing particularly remarkable. She can't duel, she doesn't know occlumency or legilimency. She's just particularly clever.
Patronus- Lightning bug
Wand- Sycamore, 9 inches, Unicorn Hair. Flexible but with a rather violent snap when pushed too far.
Goals/Aspirations- When Sabrina originally pestered her way onto the Wizengamot beat, she was hoping it would flourish some inspiration. She needed a inciting incident. A clue, a trace. Someone to tip her off to the story that will finally crack her career wide open. She knows she has what it takes, she just needs to be in the right place at the right time. Or maybe the wrong place?
History-
Sabrina's upbringing is unremarkable in the wholesome way most loving families's lives are. She was the treasured younger daughter of her small family of four, made larger by frequent visits with her cousins. Her father Michael and his brother Greg are identical twins, inseparable from birth, through Hogwarts and into adulthood. The families even grew up in adjacent brownstones, with Sabrina her brother and her cousins playing make-believe and skinning their knees running around the quiet urban neighborhood until, one by one, each of them got their letters and were called away to Hogwarts.
