Ok, so we need some actual plotting for this Pure/Shadowloved thing. Lets get started! Wwe got Aly who wants to spread fear & etc, but how? What is her end goal? And who can stop her & who will help her? & GO!


CURRENT PROPHECIES


When the day comes that the sun turns dark, the child of blood will bring forth the Shadow.

If sisters unite, the Raven falls, but apart, the Raven flies.

If dead joins living, then the Final War shall begin.

I have plans for the Druids (nature people dont like shadow people). Ima looking at you Emory.

And Aly wants to bring the world back to darkness and lead the magical world into a new age of strong power and prosperity. She believes that weakness has invaded the Magical World, that true power has been forgotten and that there should be a purge to remove the weak taint. She believes in much of Shadowlore but does not agree with the idea of Shadow demons being leaders. In her mind they are a tool (she's enjoying the debates she has with the one in her head) and she seeks to control them completely. In my plotty mind, this will probably fail and create a backlash for everyone?

But honestly, I kind of came up with her on the spot when we asked for evil and have been slowly developing her so it's all pretty flexible on where you guys want it to go/what ideas others have

I am up for anybody wanting to be tied in to the prophecy, just let me know what you want for your character and I will add you into the book!

So the next thing I want to do is develop the Jamie/Aly stuff in preparation for her 'coming out' in the next couple of months? After which a more actual War can begin?

Also, we talked about how the Returned might have some darkness in them? And then we kind of forgot and moved on... but I was thinking, theres a big ritual coming up and it will work this time... I was thinking that could 'activate' the darkness? So that gets Elle, Will, Emory more involved... but thats up to you guys?

YES!!! A dark evil Elle would be awesome! And I could also bring Declan into things too. Hmmmm what if Declan runs into Aly somehow and he gets lured to her side? He's 19 still, a heart broken young shmuck who really doesn't have a purpose in life. While he's a generally good natured romantic soul he can be a bit of dick and maybe is weak willed enough that when the darkness is activated he becomes useful to her?

Also Prophecy and Eden. The flux did something with her abilities and she didn't have a vision for 17 years. Now that she's getting them again she's getting really sick when she has them. Nose bleeds and stuff. She's been hiding this from Max, although Rowena has seen this. What if Eden has a vision just before Rowena goes missing? Something along the lines like she did when Alex was being attacked by the demons. But something happens to Eden that prevents her from acting on this information? Hmmm what if Eden had a vision in the Rowena/Michael/Eden thread? Or she went into a trance and rattled off a quick prophecy, which alerts Miachel and the other shadowed love to a true seer which can ruin their plans and they either capture Eden or cast a spell so the next time she has a prophecy that is tied to the shadowlove she gets seriously hurt? Or they capture her or so something to her to harvest her visions so they can use them against the good guys?

hmmmk. So Nuri and I did some potential plotting. Results are as follows.

So Rowena has disappeared because she found out about the Gate.

The Gate is the doorway to basically what equates to a prison. Kind of like the Veil in the Department of Mysteries, it leads elsewhere. Elsewhere in this case is the place where the Demons come from.

What was seen in the original Demon War were just fragments of the true power, with the "demons" in that War being more like mindless creatures. They actually are just the 'pets/slaves' of the true Demon Lords that inhabit this prison, the things that ruled over the land of Darkness that once was. There were originally 9 of them, but 4 were killed in the events that led up to their imprisonment and now Aly has one tied into her soul.

Basically, Aly's first attempt at a Ritual (the one that resulted in the Earthquake) was to siphon through more of their power and gift it to her followers, but with that failure she's now just going to go ahead with a full out opening the Gate and controlling the remaining Lords as she shapes the World to her ideas.

When that happens (and we were planning on her being successful this time) the Darkness within the Returned can be activated? The reason being that the Shadow Stealer stone was originally used to defeat the Demon Lords in the First War, but was twisted by those events and became what it is known as today.

Anyway, after that opens we were thinking Aly would have control over them for some time (basically them playing along for a while) before something happens to upset that... I was thinking the Druids intervene? but I'm up for ideas here, and either Aly gets killed leaving the Light to fight the Demons... OR they actually have to work together?

Oh! And the Shadow Stealer is one of 3 artifacts used. One was destroyed by Merlin, one by Cain but there is still one left out there.

So... ideas? thoughts? Just trying to develop a solidish storyline for people to work with?

So what we were thinking for the stone was maybe it was originally designed to sap the magic/power from the greater demons so they could be locked away. The Stone & the other two relics (what were they??) were placed at the door to keep it locked, but somewhere along the line the Stone was stolen & corrupted.

Max is available for all sorts of things! Specifically, teaming up with Alex & the aurors to hunt Warghollow? Perhaps his gifts could be useful to the Ministry and he gets taken on as a consultant for this specific case. Maybe they start tracking him and the next big battle is Warghollow v. Aurors with Michael, and that's how Michael gets offed? & Warghollow seeing his victim fighting him alongside the aurors he has a vendetta against draws his obsession, and that's when he starts specifically stalking the Kamerens/goes after the sisters?

That's all I have for plans so far. Max is going to start communicating with the American Empath and learning her skills too, which have to do with feeling and influencing the energy signatures in specific spells (and changing them, if he can do it quickly enough). Now he can also reach into people memories and speak into their minds as well. Are any of those newfound powers helpful in a way that can forward the plot?

Also, Maestro's available as fodder in one way or another. I don't know how much the free-spirit would be lured into the Pure, but he's also been known to get in too deep with bad people in the past.

As far as Holland and his organization go... I'm thinking of just holding off on them for the next plot? They can step in as needed, but Holland's more preoccupied with his business than any of this 'shadow realm' nonsense.

Alright, I've been thinking. Could we possibly streamline the main plot a bit? I’m running into a couple issues with it: the lore involved is so different from the HP world that it’s alienating to write with (and could be alienating to new people who’d like to join us), and there are so many elements that it’s intimidating to new people and too much for the small number of writers we have to pull off.

Here’s what I’m thinking: could we lose the part post-gate, and instead focus on the scramble to get the objects used to open the gate? The objects can either be used to open the gate or to seal it closed forever, and the struggle is between the Pure and the Watch/Aurors to get all three objects, with the final struggle at the gate with both parties trying to open and seal it at once.

Gemma’s already established that the Shield is missing, the aurors have the stone, maybe Aly finds the staff? Maybe Aly getting the staff could be her ‘coming out’, with the powers of attack it gives her bringing her and the Pure to their true power? Maybe it gives her the power to summon the magic-sucking demons like the stone did? Maybe the staff is what gives her the power to 'awaken' the evil in the Flux victims, swelling her base and starting the War?

Meanwhile, Cain/the Aurors/Max are trying to revive the Stone to seal the Gate, and the Watch/Rowena/Druids are looking for the shield.

The thing I’ve found most frustrating in this plot so far is the fact that we don’t know much of anything about the magic involved. In a main plot that largely leaves characters kind of having to filler-post along, letting plot points happen to them rather than be able to build your own story and have agency in it. I think making the plot more grounded in the world of the Magical UK than the world of the Shadowloved (though Gemma what you’ve written is really beautiful) could help keep the plot more firmly on even ground in the established world, so everyone has the depth of knowledge to be able to write their part in it.

Ideas for threads in this plot:
-Trying to revive the stone - Alex/Cain, Max(?), Ro(?), Ari(?)
-Battle/Attack at Hogwarts/in the Forbidden Forest - Aly finding the staff & her ‘coming out’
-Battle at the Ministry - the Pure coming for the Aurors in an attempt to get the stone
-Search Party for the Shield - Watch, Ro, The Druids possibly?
-Race to the Gate - Light to seal, dark to open

Anyway, that’s what I’m thinking: a bit simpler, a bit more accessible. Thoughts?

Urgh. YES. This makes it so much better. Sorry guys. I had all these plans to write stuff about the more involved stuff but frankly it's daunting and I'm way too busy/tired all the time.

I got a bit carried away trying to get this plot away from the usual Pureblood/everyone else mentality and trying to actually make a decent threat against some pretty well established strong wizards that I went a bit crazy with it. Though speaking off, I have a good idea for a possible future plot where it's a 'good/Light/Muggleborn' Witch or Wizard who's fed up with Purebloods trying to 'cleanse and control' that maybe they decide to do it first but the other way round? Would make sense after so many wars and could be a fun thing to play with? but that's getting ahead of myself.

I like everything you've written Max and totally up for that.
The staff is actually Emory's father's staff that has been passed through the Melyonen family. But it got lost when Emory disappeared... but I like the idea of it being how she might control the others? Would be interesting to see Elle vs Alex and Emory vs Eden and Will vs his brothers in the Final Battle?

I was also thinking that in order to fix the Stone, they might need Aly's blood? The stone was a sort of sink right? And so is Aly so that could tie in and maybe thats a way for Jamie to play a big part in the plot?

Ro runs away from the hospital to try and find the Shield.
Finds a cave with a oak sapling.
Alex/Cain/Max discuss about the Stone's role.
Emory finally gets the staff back from where the Ministry put it after the Flux? Aly sees it at Hogwarts and recognises it for what it truly is?
Michael gets got by the Alex/Max after a fight between them/aurors/Winston?
Aly gets fed up with her followers failings and speeds things up, and Jamie finally catches on?
Jamie overhears his cousin/dad talking about the stone and maybe puts some stuff together (might need Aly to talk to him about being a sink for this?)
He gets some of her blood and then Cain/Alex/Max can fix it?
Winston starts going after the Kamerens?
Meanwhile Aly is getting the staff from Emory causing him to call the Watch and there to be a fight at Hogwarts and Aly 'comes out'>
Battle at the Ministry - the Pure coming for the Aurors in an attempt to get the stone

Meanwhile, search Party for the Shield - Watch, Ro, The Druids possibly?

And then finally the Race to the Gate - Light to seal, dark to open
