Rowena had barely finished her sentence before Max closed the distance and kissed her. She pressed herself against him as he drew her onto the bed and the electricity sparked between them. When he finally pulled away she was breathless.
“So, what was that? You want to what?”
She scowled at him playfully. “That. I want to do a lot more of that.” She leaned up to kiss him again before falling back beside him with a sigh. “Looks like we have to do more than kissing to get out of here though,” she said, rolling onto her side so she could look at him better. “What did he say we had to do? Open up to each other?” Rowena rolled her eyes at the other Potions Master’s antics. Stinksap was too good for him.
What did opening up even mean in this situation? She grumbled in annoyance. They really did need to get back to work. Maybe she should just let Max know she was interested verbally?
“So I guess… if you couldn’t tell with your super magic powers, I really like you and urm, that’s terrifying but please can we try again and I shall try not to freak out?” she said hesitantly. She worried her lip between her teeth. “I don’t know that I’ll have a huge amount of free time for dates at the moment though. I need to go and check on my parents on my days off… even if they threw me out yesterday.” She scowled at the memory. She’d only been trying to help. Then again, if she hadn’t left she wouldn’t be here today and wouldn’t be enjoying kissing Max. Speaking off, she could resist reaching up and kissing him again. It was addictive.
“Maybe we could get lunch sometimes together?” She’d take whatever time they could both squeeze into their busy work schedules. It was part of what she liked about Max, that he understood and accepted her workaholic tendencies.
“Oh! Actually. You were pretty ok back there in that fight even if you did lose,” she said, teasingly. She briefly wondered what had happened to those two men and what the whole incident had even been about. She supposed they’d find out when they got back to the Emergency Room. Nothing stayed secret for long in the halls of Mungos.
“Could you maybe teach me?” That hadn’t been the first time in the last few months that she’d been useless in a fight. It was a skill she’d never bothered to learn. The Wizarding World was at peace and she was a Healer, not a fighter… but maybe she should brush up on some basics. Plus, it gave her an excuse to spend more time with Max. Win win.
