Lovegood watched the former Headmistress carefully, noting that she had grabbed the door frame to steady herself and appeared to pale slightly from the shock. It must be an awful blow losing 17 years. Just awful. Unless, of course, you were deep in the throngs of a mid-life crisis. The predicament could have its merits. Had it not been for his wand, his cat and his family, Bodi may have been keen to try it. He was about to offer Brightweather the use of his Firebolt for support when he realized that her resolve had remarkably returned. The lofty visage of a distant Hogwarts seemingly gave the hawk-lady strength.
Bodi could never love school that much.
"And Master Bodi, I remember your face among the ranks of the Black Watch. I apologize I hadn't been acquainted with you personally, however. I presume, based on your correction in addressing me, that I was pronounced dead perhaps. And as such, am no longer Headmistress."
"Ah, yes. Definitely dead, I'm afraid. You...all of you were terribly dead. I don't think anyone expected a Return." Bodi gave the former Headmistress a sympathetic look before removing the rucksack from from his shoulder and dropping it to Nuri's porch. He quickly reached inside for the morning's copy of The Daily Prophet and The Quibbler, the former featuring a front-page editorial on The Great Reappearance and the latter offering a 3D recreation of the Knight Bus x 2 collision complete with complimentary 3D glasses. "These might help."
"Pardon all of my questions but, what of the War and the Ministry? More importantly, did all injured survive?"
Bodi turned to Nuri, hoping she could shed some light. He knew that there had been many casualties but given their previous friendship, Nuri would know intimately of any names that would be foremost in Siara's mind.
